Dear Ms. Dorte Marcussen
On behalf of the organising committee I would like to invite you to be our guest at the 41st International Meeting of Naïve Artists in Trebnje – Galerija likovnih samorastnikov. The event will be held from 14th to 21st June 2008 in Trebnje, Slovenia.
Every year we invite naïve painters and sculptures to take part at the art camp. Each participant gives one of his art works for free to The Gallery of Naive Artists in Trebnje. Each artist gets a diploma of The Camp as a certificate of participation at this international meeting.
In the time of the meeting the organizer offers free accommodation and returns the costs of travel (train, bus or personal car) to each participant. In this time we also organize several interesting visits and round tables.
The opening celebration will be held on 14th June 2008 at 18.00 in the site of the gallery. However the artists invited will get all additional information regarding the program, travel, accommodation in advance.
The Gallery of Naïve Artist is the only such institution in Slovenia that collects, promote and research art of the self – thought. Therefore we would be very happy if you could come to Slovenia and with your art and participation make a contribution to our efforts.
On the behalf of the Organisational Committee of Naive Artists in Trebnje (Galerija samorastnikov v Trebnjem)
Dr. Zoran Kržišnik, The President and Patricija Pavlič, Director

=== ABOUT the GALERIJA LIKOVNIH SAMORATSNIKOV ===
The first art camp of naïve artist was held in Trebnje in 1968. On behalf of the enthusiasm of the artists to participate and enrich the art collection and the organizer to preserve and to promote naïve art, a gallery was founded in the year 1971. Ever since than many solo or group exhibitions were organized and as well biennale of Yugoslav naïve art was held in Trebnje. At the beginning the art camps and exhibitions were focused on Yugoslav naïve art. However the annual meetings and exhibitions have soon grown to international scale. So far the gallery has a fond of almost 1000 art works that were executed by more than 230 artists from 35 countries (Europe, Asia, Africa and both Americas). The gallery has participated and exhibited its collection in different parts of Slovenia, former Yugoslavia, Musée International d’Art Naïf Vicqu and in Insita 94 National Gallery Bratislava. In all this year the gallery has been professionally supported by well established names in art world such as dr.
